Review Process

Every calculator on ASQCalculator goes through the same review cycle before publication and on a recurring schedule.

  1. Source check. Confirm the primary source (manual, AAP policy, WHO/CDC reference) is the most recent version.
  2. Logic verification. Re-run scoring against published worked examples; any mismatch blocks publication.
  3. Editorial review. An editor reads the page for clarity, plain language, and tone.
  4. Medical review. A reviewer with pediatric-content experience checks clinical accuracy and disclaimers.
  5. Publish. The page goes live with a visible "Last reviewed" date and a link to the reviewer.
  6. Recurring review. Every calculator is re-checked at least once every 12 months, or sooner when guidance changes.
