Our standards
We follow the principles of Google's Helpful Content guidelines and the American Academy of Pediatrics' patient-education recommendations: original content, real expertise, clear sourcing, and zero clickbait.
Content lifecycle
- Research. Editors review the most recent peer-reviewed literature, AAP/WHO/CDC guidance, and the published manuals for any clinical instrument referenced (for example the ASQ-3).
- Drafting. Calculator logic is implemented from primary sources — never reverse-engineered from third-party copies — and educational content is written in plain language.
- Review. Every page is reviewed by our editorial team before publication and again at each review cycle.
- Update. Pages display the date they were last reviewed. We update them whenever guidance changes or new evidence is published.
Sources
We cite primary sources directly — AAP policy statements, WHO and CDC growth references, the original ASQ-3 manual from Brookes Publishing, and peer-reviewed journals. See our Sources page for the master list.
Corrections
Spotted something that looks wrong? Email us via the contact page. We investigate every correction request and post a visible note when a page is updated as a result.
Independence
Our calculators are free. We have no commercial relationship with the publishers of the instruments we score, and editorial decisions are never influenced by advertisers.
